The Two Fatalities Revealed in the Providence Campus Shooting as Law Enforcement Persist in Search for Perpetrator.

Two students who died in the recent tragic incident on the university campus had tributes paid to them on Monday – amid a widespread hunt for their shooter continued following the release by Rhode Island officials of the sole person questioned in the case.

Honoring a Lost Student

The young woman Ella Cook, a second-year scholar from Alabama, was described as “an incredible, grounded, faithful, bright light”, according to the Cathedral Church of the Advent, Birmingham, which honored her memory at a gathering on Sunday.

Umurzokov’s identity was officially acknowledged by Uzbekistan’s foreign ministry.

“He was incredibly kind, funny, and smart. He harbored grand aspirations of pursuing a career in neurosurgery and aiding others,” Samira Umurzokova, his sister said in a tribute.

Nine more persons were hurt in the weekend shooting in the engineering department of Brown’s campus in Providence, during the school’s final exam period.

Authorities said by the end of Sunday that a 24-year-man detained in a raid at a Hampton Inn about around 27 kilometers from the university earlier in the day was released from custody.

“There is a killer at large,” said Rhode Island’s attorney general, Peter Neronha.
