The artist has given the complete sum of his twenty-five thousand pound award cash to the trust for venues, which operates to protect the UK's small live music spots.

He was given the award on mid-October as his new release the album was named the top album of the past year.

Fender has decided to hand the money over to the MVT, in appreciation of the essential function small stages had in his beginning days.

"I would not have achieved my current career if it wasn't for all the performances I did around the area, and further afield, when I was starting out," said Sam Fender. "These spaces are iconic, but they are struggling."

Beginning in 2023, more than 150 of these locations have permanently closed – approximately 16 percent of the whole industry in the UK.

Over the past year, well-known musicians like Pulp, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all backed the Music Venues Trust in its attempts to support the industry, by adding a small levy to their ticket prices, which benefits local stages.

Fender also joined in, generating in excess of £100,000 on his 2024 arena tour to assist numerous small stages across Britain.

These funds helped venues that were facing potential shutdown due to challenges caused by floods, blazes and family tragedies, as well as permit problems, court cases and sound issues.

Other venues obtained monetary aid in modernizing amenities and technical equipment that positively impacted artists and fans.

"The notion that revenue from performances in major spaces backs the local stages, where it all starts for musicians like me, is just logical," the star has said.
