Hulu to Bring a Popular Game TV Show from the Minds of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.

The most recent action-packed game that players experienced was Far Cry 6, which featured Giancarlo Esposito as the bad guy, Antón, and was released during October 6, 2021. As a series, it has a reputation for delighting in action and insanity with the same glee, all while telling engaging, socially charged tales. Little surprise that the network’s decision for a Far Cry seasonal program brought on board two creators whose creations have represented all of those qualities.

About the Series

Adapted from Ubisoft's popular video game series, the self-contained anthology series will stream on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The anthology will also parallel the video games' style by featuring a new setting and cast of characters in each season.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as lead producers on the series through their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

The network enjoyed outstanding relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is innovative, compelling, and extremely entertaining. We also want to thank our collaborators at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this cherished property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also star in the show, but at the time of writing, we are unsure of what character that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently approved for a second instalment, with FX and Disney finalizing a new long-term contract with the producer.

“Having the opportunity with Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” said Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably accommodating, entrusting us with one of the most famous video-game universes ever created. And along the way, my FX team constantly supports me with their steady trust and backing.”

“What I love about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an anthology-style show. Each game is a interpretation of a idea, the same way every series of Fargo is a adaptation on a theme,” said Hawley. “To create a big action show that can change from year to year, while always exploring the nature of society through this complex and chaotic viewpoint, is a ultimate goal. I’m eager to work with Rob and present our mutual irreverent, daring sensibility to the screen.”

A release window for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
