Ex- Physician Accused of Sexual Assault Allegations Against 38 Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities have announced that a ex- physician stands accused of carrying out assaults against 38 victims who were under his care.
Details of the Grave Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of sexual offences – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 to 2021.
A senior CPS official said, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
These allegations come after what investigators described as a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
Breakdown of Charges
The charging documents said the 45 sexual offences comprise:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
