Esteemed Star Pat Finn, Famed For Roles in The Middle and Friends, Dies at 60 Years Old.
American actor Pat Finn, who featured in popular television series such as "Friends", "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has passed away aged 60.
The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in Los Angeles on Monday following cancer treatment since 2022, according to media reports.
"Pat considered no one a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his family stated in a statement.
They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".
A Prolific Television Career
His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.
He also had a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He played the part of Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, playing a social organizer who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.
During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on several popular shows, such as:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight series between 2011 and 2018.
His cinematic roles encompass It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Outside of his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was involved with a six-member improv team named Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat guided, supported, and advised many learners over the years and it would be difficult to find a person who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Offering condolences, colleague and actor actor Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, making those around him better and funnier. A wonderful father and man," he shared on social media.
Finn is remembered by his wife Donna, his children, and his family.
